Türkiye “GREAT Start-up” Yarışması
Türkiye’deki teknoloji şirketleri Birleşik Krallık Yatırım ve Ticaret Ajansı ve İngiltere İstanbul Başkonsolosluğu tarafından düzenlenen GREAT start-up yarışmasına katılabilirler. Kazananlar, kendileri için tasarlanmış iş geliştirme programına dahil olma fırsatını yakalayacaklardır. Yarışmaya katılabilmek için, Türkiye’de kurulmuş olmak ve son 5 yıl içerisinde kurulmuş olmak gerekmektedir. Başvurular için son tarih, 30 Eylül 2014 ‘tür.
Technology companies in Turkey can enter the GREAT start up competiton. Winners will take part in a tailored business development programme in the UK.
Overview
Entrepreneurs running start up technology companies in Turkey should enter this competition. The aim of the competition is to encourage high growth technology companies in Turkey to look at the UK as a place where they can set up and grow their businesses.
The competition is run by UK Trade & Investment and British Consulate General Istanbul.
A tailored business programme will be organised for the winners in the UK.
Who can enter
The competition is open to individuals who are the main shareholders in the company. The company must be:
- registered in Turkey
- established within the last 5 years
Companies can apply in one of the following award categories:
- The Female Technology Entrepreneur
- The Undergraduate Young Entrepreneur
- The Technology Entrepreneur from Anatolia
- The Social Technology Entrepreneur
- The Jury’s Special Award
Prizes
One winner will be announced from each category. The winners will receive:
- one round-trip plane ticket from Istanbul to London
- three nights accommodation in London
- consultancy services by accountants and lawyers on setting up in the UK, work visas and tax
- mentoring sessions by arranged through the Global Entrepreneurship Programme
- guided tour of London technology hub ‘Tech City’
- briefing on opportunities in the UK and tech clusters by London and Partners
- networking opportunities with venture capitals in the UK
Judging criteria
Applicants will be judged on the following criteria (% in bracket indicates portion of overall scores).
innovative, practical and profitable business idea (25%)
quality of information supporting the business idea – e.g. in-depth analysis and research on the market (25%)
actual or projected returns and potential for growth (20%)
how closely their product or service relates to the award category entered (10%)
potential for the business to succeed in the UK (20%)
Applying
Apply by completing the online application form before 30 September 2014.
Timings
The deadline for applications is 30 September 2014.
The judging panel will meet between 1 October – 8 October and shortlist 3 companies from each category.
One winner will be announced from each category at the British Technology Summit on 20 October 2014
